Jimmy' s garden and some of my sewing and knitting

Esa gente maravillosa de Queensland limpiando y reconstruyendo sus casas (las que sobrevivieron) y sus calles y comercios.... Dios no permita que nunca mas se repita tanta desgracia.

Por casa todo tranquilo y el calor apaciguado (hoy 21 grados Celsius), luego de aquel sabado 5 de Febrero con el dia mas caluroso en 85 anios! (en Sydney 42,2 en el aeropuerto) pero aqui en casa casi 40 ..un horno! La embrujada Senora Naturaleza nos tiene a mal traer no?

Pasado ese dia infernal Jimmy se paso mimando mas que nunca sus plantas y asi estan hoy...

Verdes y relucientes ! (Aunque casi nada de flores)

Tambien sigue con su libro (para las que me preguntaron, es de anecdotas de su juventud

Those incredible “ Queenslanders” cleaning and rebuilding their homes (the few that survived) and its streets and shops ... task that will last a long time. God forbid that never again repeats such misery.
At home all quiet and the heat subsided (now 21 degrees Celsius) After that Saturday February 5th with the hottest day in 85 Anios! (42.2 in Sydney’ airport) but here at home almost 40 .. an oven! “Lady Nature” is haunting us all terribly!
After that hellish day Jimmy is pampering his plants more than ever
Lushious green today! (Although almost no flowers)

He is also trying to finish his book (for the ones who ask me:anecdotes of his youth)

For my part, a bit more of sewing and knitting. Boring me? NEVER! jaja

almost a month and not showing anything - casi un mes y sin mostrar nada

Este Enero paso tan rapido!
En Queensland estan en plena limpieza mientras que en Victoria siguen subiendo las aguas y nuestro Gobierno ya esta listo para pasarnos la cuenta de la reconstruccion (eso aparte de lo que ya ayudamos voluntariamente)
El pais entero pendiente de lo que se esta haciendo (o se va a hacer) para poner de nuevo en pie a tanta gente perjudicada con estas catastrofes que azotaron Australia.
Jimmy como siempre atendiendo su jardin que con tantas lluvias esta bellisimo.
Tambien avanzando su ultimo libro y preocupandose y cuidando de todos los demas.
Yo me pase cosiendo y tejiendo un monton! pero sin mostrar nada. Siempre me pasa igual, o avanzo mis tareas o blogeo. Ambos al mismo tiempo me es imposible. Imagino que asi pasara con todas, no?
Esta vez tenia varias telas preciosas (casi todas sedas naturales) para hacerle unas ropas
prometidas a mi amiga japonesa Chizuco (yo la llamo Jessi).
Como ella pronto retorna a Japon debi apurarme un poco para terminar a tiempo.
Sus telas en si eran estampados muy novedosos, asi que los disenos fueron mas bien sencillos y elegantes (y porque asi viste ella). Vestidos tipo tunicas con aberturas abajo en la falda y estolas largas, faldas cruzadas, pantalones, cositas para la casa tambien......
Tambien teji algunos sueters nuevos en algodon de 4 Ply que salen livianos como mas me gustan (solo que asi me llevan mas tiempo ufff), menos mal que esta el Tenis del Abierto de Australia. Entre mis tejidos y los juegos tengo para entretenerme un monton!
Anoche Djokovic y Federer estuvieron infartantes y mi tejidito avanzo mucho.

This January is gone so fast!
In Queensland, they are in the middle of cleaning what was left after the floods, while in Victoria the waters still going up and our government is now ready to pass us the recosntruccion bill(appart from what we already help voluntarily)
The entire country is helping to put it back on their feet to so many injured people and their damaged properties with these catastrophes that hit Australia.

Jimmy as always tending to his garden , with so much rain is looking stunning.
He is also advancing his latest book and worrying and caring for everyone else.

I spent a lot of time in my sewing and knitting lately ! but not attending my blog. I can't do both things properly at the same time. I guess that's just happens to all, no?

This time I had a few precious fabrics (mostly natural silk) to make some clothes
I promised to my japanesse friend Chizuco (I call her Jessi).
As she is soon returning to Japan I had to rush a bit to finish them on time.
Her fabrics were patterned, so the designs were rather simple and elegant (that's the way she dresses up) Tunic dresses with slits down the skirts and stoles, wrap skirts, pants, things for the home too ......

I also knit some new sweaters in 4ply cotton, very light, perfect for summer (just the way I like them) but been fine yarn takes very longggg ufff, luckily there is the Australia Tennis Open.

With my knittings and the games I have a lot to entertain myself!
Djokovic and Federer last night were heart-stopping and my latest sweater had a big advance.

2011, anio de muchas esperanzas - 2010, a year of hope

Me llena de ilusiones este anio nuevo. El 2010 fue bueno y este sera aun mejor. Por lo menos empeze muy bien, con muchas esperanzas.

Las inundaciones en Queensland si me tienen preocupada, pero igual pienso que todo se arreglara de alguna manera.

I am full of hopes this new year. 2010 was good and this will be even better. At least I started very well, with high hopes.

Floods in Queensland have me worried, but I just think everything will be fixed somehow.


Mi ventana se lleno de saludos de amistades de muchas partes del mundo.......la miro cada que paso enfrente y es como sentir de cerca a cada una de esas personas queridas.
y tuve tantos regalos, mucho mas de lo que merezco., imposible mencionarlos a todos.
El de mi nietita Stephie, echo con sus propias manitos, me emociono mucho!
Ella misma hizo esta caja de chocolates.

Each time I pass in front I look at them and I feel close to them.

and I had many gifts, much more than I deserve., impossible to list them all.

The one from my little grandaugther Stephie, made with her own hands, touched my heart.

Este es el tiempo que tanto amo, dias de alegria intensa preparando regalitos y viendo llegar tarjetas de otras partes del mundo...., engalanando mi casa y llenando la nevera con cosas ricas, esperando ver a familiares, amigos y vecinos !

QUE BELLA ES LA NAVIDAD!

Hay cosas tambien que no me gustan mucho, ir a los shops por ejemplo.....es como una locura colectiva, un frenezi por comprar comprar comprarrrr -total se paga con tarjetas.

Y para que tanta comida!...que el pavo, que el jamon fino, champagne, nueces, panetones para quedar mas gordos despues. Para mi, una milanesa con chips y ensalada y un vino tinto,y mas que feliz por ver a mis queridos pero sin endeudarme, que con eso siempre viene el mal humor no? Aprendi con el tiempo (la sabiduria de la edad) a limitarme a lo que se puede y despues dormir tranquila.

Una Navidad hermosa para cada una de mis amigas tejeriles, y que el 2011 sea muy generoso con vosotras y vuestras familias.

Gracias por inspirarme siempre con vuestros blogs y brindarme vuestra amistad.

This is the time that I love very much, days of intense joy preparing gifts and watching greeting cards arriving from other parts of the world ...., gracing my home and filling the fridge with goodies, hoping to see relatives, friends and neighbors ..

WONDERFUL CHRISTMAS!

There are things I do not like too much, go to the shops for example ..... it's like a collective madness, a frenzy to buy buy buyyyyyyyyyyyy- is only paid with credicards.
And so much food! ... the turkey, the fine ham, champagne, nuts, panettonessss, to be fatter later. For me, a Schnitzel with chips and salad and red wine, and more than happy to see my dear ones without going into debt. With that comes always bad mood, right? I learned over time (the wisdom of age) to limit myself to what I can afford and then sleep peacefully.

A beautiful Christmas for each of my knitting buddies. Hope 2011 is very generous with you and your families.
