Back to earth! ....De vuelta a la tierra!

Yes! that is the way I feel returning to home after 2 months of constant travelling.

Visiting my family and friends I felt like been somewhere in heaven, so many nice people out there!


From all the angels I met I must mention the ones who did a lot for me, those who took me out for lunch, tea or dinner. The ones who showered me with so many gifts, I actually had to get a new suitcase for them.


Noni, Millie, Julie, aunt Perlita, aunt Alicia, Florence, Sonia, Normi and Ernesto, Myriam Gaona, Otilia, Graciela, Rosita, Lys, Father Zanardini, Father Melia.. so many of them!


But specially my amazing sister Susy, my brother in law Carlos and their children Vicente and Nathaly, who made my stay at their home a memorable one.

Each day with Susy was so much fun! Shopping with her is the bigest adventure. Nobody like her in finding the nicest things at a bargain prices.


I thought I was the Princess of Shopping, but here is my sister Susy the QUEEN of Bargaining hunting!

So I end up with so much to carried home, a third case was needed!


And each dinner at her home had a menu for a Queen! God she can also cook!


Her big kitchen is made for a fun family like hers. A big TV at one side, a sewing corner the other, and while we all talk about everything around her table, she would put together a few dishes to please even the most pretentious appetite.

And those wonderful hours of travelling in the country side!


Nobody like Carlos and Susy to show you around town. Their lovely weekender must be the most beautiful country house I know, with a garden of fairy tales, flowers everywhere! Yes! she is a great gardener as well!


There is nothing she can' t do, and she does it all very well.


My dear sis, many thanks for been like you are.


I only have a few days here at home and already missing you.

Si! asi es como me siento al retornar a casa despues de 2 meses de constante viaje.
Visitando mi familia y amigos me hizo sentir como flotando en el cielo, cuanta buena gente ahi!
De todos los angeles que encontre debo mencionar a los que hicieron mucho por mi, aquellos que me invitaron a almorzar, a ricos tes y cenas. Los que me llenaron de obsequios, que termine por conseguirme una nueva valija para traerlos.

Pero especialmente mi maravillosa hermanita Susy, mi cunado Carlos y sus hijos Vicente y Nathaly, que hicieron de mi estadia en su casa muy memorable.
Cada dia con Susy fue de lo mas divertido! Ir de compras con ella es la mayor aventura. Nadie como ella para encontrar las cosas mas bonitas a precios de remate.
Pense que yo era la Princesa del Shopping, pero aqui esta mi hermanita Susy, La REINA DE LA CACERIA DE OFERTAS!
Asi que termine con mucha carga, una tercera valija fue necesaria!
Y cada comida en su casa tenia un menu para una Reina! Dios !!!ella tambien sabe cocinar!
Su enorme cocina es perfecta para una familia activa como la de ella.
Un gran TV hacia un lado, una esquina de costura del otro, y mientras todos hablabamos de todo un poco alrededor de su mesa, ella preparaba unos cuantos platos para complacer hasta al mas pretencioso apetito.
Y esas maravillosas horas viajando por el campo!
Nadie como Carlos y Susy para mostrarte los alrededores.
Su casa de fin de semana debe ser la casa de campo mas hermosa que conozco, con un jardin de cuentos de hadas, flores por todas partes! Si! ella es una gran jardinera tambien!
No hay nada que ella no sepa hacer, y lo hace todo muy bien!
Mi querida herma, muchas gracias por ser como eres.
Solo llevo unos pocos dias en casa y ya te estoy extranando.

I badly wanted a red vest to combine with a lot of black, white and beigge I already have for my trip. And nothing inspired me more than this variation of the "Shalom Cardigan" of Ravelry.

A toda costa queria un chaleco rojo para combinarlo con mucho negro, blanco y beigge que ya tengo para mi viaje. Y nada me inspiro tanto como esta variacion del "Shalom Cardigan" de Ravelry.

And finally, with only a few days to embarque, I am trying to finish a vest for Carlos, my brother in law.

It took a while..... and that is an understatement!

SOCKS MY WAY (Calcetines a mi manera)

Some of my knitting buddies asked me for a step by step instructions of sock knitting, and here it is!
Algunas de mis amigas tejeriles me han pedido un paso a paso de instrucciones para tejido de calcetines,
Asi que aqui esta!


Easy Socks (my way)
8 Ply wool
Circular Needle number 4
A set of 4 double point needles number 4

Calcetines faciles (a mi manera)
Lana de 8 hebras
Aguja Circular numero 4
Un juego de agujas de doble punta numero 4




Leg:
Cast on 44 stitches on normal needles, then transfer to short circular needles - I buy shoe size 7 – so for me 44 is just right.
If you prefer double point needles, use them. I like a combination of both.

Pierna:
Empezar con 44 puntos en agujas normales, luego tranferirl a una aguja circular corta -yo compro calzado 7- asi que para mi 44 puntos esta perfecto.
Si prefieren agujas de doble punta para esto, usenlas.
A mi me gustan una combinacion de ambas.



Knit 1x1 rib (1x1) about 4cm wide,and continue in stockinet stitch until it measures about 15 cm from cast on (or to taste)
Tejer una pretina elastizada (1x1) de alrededor de 4cm de ancha,
Y continuar en punto yersey hasta medir unos 15 cm desde el principio ( o a gusto)

The heel is worked on ½ of the total number of stitches, in this case 22 stitches . Leave in suspense the other half on the circular needle; we will continue working with them again once the heel is turned.
From now on we use the double point needles; we start with 2 double points for the heel.

Knit the heel part (slip always the first stitch) until it measures about 5cm.
Talon:El talon se teje con la mitad del numero total de puntos, en este caso 22. Dejar en suspenso la otra mitad en la aguja circular; continuaremos trabajando con ellos de nuevo una vez que terminemos con el talon.

Tejer la parte del talon (dejando pasar sin tejer el primer punto de cada vuelta) hasta que mida unos 5 cm.

On the reverse side start purling until half (11) plus 2 stitches, in this case 13 stitches .Decrease :p2 together, p1, turn.
Slip 1, knit 5, skp (slip, k1, pass slipped stitch over )K1, turn.

Repeat this way:
Slip 1, p6, p2tog, p1, turn.
Slip 1, k7,skp, k1, turn.
Slip 1, p8, p2tog, p1, turn.
Slip 1, k9,skp, k1, turn.
And so on....

until all the stitches are used, and we get 12 stitches left in the needle.

We continue by picking 5 stitches at the side of the heel, and then pass across the top of the foot (the part that was left in suspense) -half on 2nd needle and other half on 3rd needle.
Finally pick up the other 5 stitches of the other side of the heel.
It will be all add up 44 again.

At this stage we can return to our circular needle .

Tejemos del lado del revez del tejido hasta la mitad (11) mas 2 puntos, en este caso 13 puntos, disminuimos 2 puntos revez juntos, 1 r, girar.
Pasar un punto sin tejer, 5 p der, skp (pasar 1, tejer 1, pasar encima el punto deslizado), 1 p der, girar.
Repetir de esta manera:
Pasar 1, 6p rev, 2 p rev juntos, 1 p rev, girar.
Pasar 1, 7p der, skp, 1p der, girar.
Pasar 1, 8p rev, 2 p rev juntos, 1 p rev, girar.
Pasar 1, 9p der, skp, 1p der, girar
Y asi seguir......
Hasta que todos los puntos sean tejidos, y tengamos solo 12 puntos en la aguja.
Continuamos levantando 5 puntos al costado del talon, y luego seguimos con los puntos de la parte superior del pie (la parte que quedo en suspenso), -mitad en la aguja 2 y la otra mitad en la 3.
Finalmente levantar los 5 puntos del otro lado del talon.
Todo junto seran 44 puntos de nuevo.

A esta altura podemos retornar a nuestra aguja circular.

Knit to desire length of foot (we can even try on to test)
It should feel snaggy (nothing worse than socks that are too big)
Tejer hasta el largo de pie deseado (hasta podriamos probarnos a ver como va, deberia sentirse algo ajustado (nada peor que unos calcetines muy grandes)

Arrange the stitches this way:

Top of foot in 1 needle, 22 stitches. Bottom of foot in 2 needles, 11 stitches each. Mark sides.
Always knit 3 stitches before the decreases at each side. SKP to the right, 2Ktog to the lef, 3 stitches to finish, and so on until we
finish with 11 stitches on top of foot and 11 stitches on the bottom.

La Punta:Distribuir los puntos en esta forma:
Arriba 22 puntos en una aguja. Abajo 22 puntos en 2 agujas de 11 puntos cada una.Marcar los costados del pie.
Siempre tejer 3 p, luego 1 disminucion skp hacia la derecha y 2 puntos juntos a la izquierda, y 3 puntos para terminar.

Seguir asi hasta terminar con 11 puntos arriba del pie y 11 punto abajo.

Close with Kitchener Stitch.

Cerrar con punto kitchener.

My last 2 weeks had been so busy! not much knitting because I am organizing my trip.
But at least I managed to finish this cardigan for me, and a bit more work in John' s sweater.

Mis 2 ultimas semanas me han tenido muy ocupada! no mucho tejido porque estoy organizando mi viaje.Pero pude aunque sea terminar este sueter para mi, y un poco mas en el de John.

Which I love it on, but...(there is always a but!). The COLOUR is a bit too light. It seemed right when in balls, but now I rather have it a bit darker, and just wondering if I could deep in dye. Should I do it? This is NUTS!

El cual me encanta puesto, pero....(siempre hay un pero!). El COLOR es un poco demasiado claro. Parecia perfecto cuando estaba en ovillos, pero ahora me gustaria un poco mas oscuro, lo que me hace pensar si lo podria tenir. Deberia hacerlo? Esto es de LOCOS!
