2 cotton tops

I spent the last few weeks jumping from one thing to another!
Spring cleaning my house, some gardening, clearing a lot of junk from a small room next to the garage with the intention of transforming in a hobbies room-this is a big job!, luckily Jimmy is helping.
Is empty at the moment and painting about to start.

My knitting and bloging is quite behind, but somehow I managed to do a bit like this other "top to bottom". I' m still in the "outsidedown" mood.
I wanted a loose fitting, but it turned out huge!, so it will go to one of my chubby friends (I have a couple)

Mi tejido y "blogeo" esta algo atrasado, pero de alguna manera pude tejer este otro "arriba para abajo". Todavia sigo con ganas de tejer en "sentido contrario". Queria que me quede flojo, pero termino enorme!, asi que ira para una de mis amigas gorditas (tengo 2)

This 100% cotton multicolor -brown, soft pink, ivory- I started in my travelling time and finished here at home.
Is very similar to my blue one but the body in other stitch. Will go perfectly with some of my white slacks and skirts for this spring.

Este multicolor 100% algodon -marron, rosa palido, marfil- que lo empeze durante mi viaje y lo termine aqui en casa.
Es muy parecido a mi azul pero el cuerpo en otro punto.
Ira perfectamente con algunos pantalones y faldas blancas para esta primavera.

And this white wool "shalom" vest to replace the red I gave to my aunt Perlita I just finished.

Montar 130 puntos en agujas 3.3/4

El Canesu tiene 4 secciones.
PRIMERA SECCION:

- La 1a y cada hilera impar: *2d. 2r* hasta el final (terminar en 2d)
- 2a y cada hilera par: *2r, 2d* hasta el final (terminar en 2r)
- Tejer hasta llegar a 8 cm.
- Cambiar a agujas 4.5 y tejer 2 hileras todo punto derecho.

SEGUNDA SECCION:
- Igual que la primera seccion hasta otros 8 cm.

TERCERA SECCION:
Esta es donde se hacen los aumentos para formar los hombros

- Hilera 1: *2d, 2r*, repetir hasta el final (terminar en 2d)
- Hilera 2: 2r, *2d, aumentar 1, tejer 2r* Repetir hasta el final, terminar en 2d, 2r.
Total 192 puntos.
- Hilera 3: 2d, *2r, 4d* Repetir hasta el final, terminar en 2r, 2d.
- Hilera 4: 2r, *2d,4r* Repetir hasta el final, terminar en 2d, 2r.
- Hilera 5: 2d, *2r, 2d, aumentar 1, tejer 2r, 2d. Repetir hasta el final, terminar en 2r, 2d.
Total: 223 puntos.
- Hilera 6: 2r, *2d, 2r, 1d, 2r*, repetir hasta el final. Terminar en 2r.

EL CUERPO:
- La 1a y cada hilera impar: *2d. 2r* hasta el final (terminar en 2d)
- 2a y cada hilera par: *2r, 2d* hasta el final (terminar en 2r)
-A esta altura los 254 puntos se distribuyen de esta forma:
38 puntos para cada delantero, 78 para la espalda, y 50 para cada sisa, que se dejan en suspenso en ganchos.
- En la 3a hilera, para la parte inferior de cada sisa se montan 22 puntos.
El cuerpo completo (38 + 22 + 78 + 22 + 38 = 198) se teje hasta el largo deseado. El mio mide 35 cm.
- 2 hileras todo derecho, cerrar con tension floja.

LAS MANGAS:
Se tejen de arriba para abajo.
- Montar 14 puntos, luego los 50 puntos de la sisa dejados en suspenso, y luego agregar 0tros 14 puntos. Total 78 puntos.
- 2d, 2r
- 2r, 2d, hasta el deseado largo de mangas.
Los canales de las mangas deben coincidir con el canesu.
- Disminuir 1 punto cada lado, cada 8 hileras y hasta el largo correcto de mangas. Las mias miden 38 cm.
- 2 hileras todo derecho, cerrar con tension floja.
-Coser la costura y luego cerrar debajo de la sisa.

Una bonita terminacion al crochet en el frente,
con ganchos y botones forrados.

A few of my knitting baddies asked me how I knitted my blue sweater, this one!

It was sometime in April....

Normaly, I just make a sketch and a few numbers.
But as I did repeat it in white for my niece Nathaly during my holiday, this time I took proper notes, and here it is.......

TOP TO BOTTOM SWEATER – size 10/12
8 Ply wool, aprox 600 g

Cast 130 S on needles 3 ¾
The YOKE has 4 sections.
FIRST SECTION:
- 1ST and every uneven row: *2k, 2p* till the end (finish in 2k)
- 2nd and every even row: *2p, 2k* till the end (finish in 2p)
- Knit until it reaches a length of 8 cm.
- Change to needles 4.5 and knit 2 rows all K.
SECOND SECTION:
- Same as first section until another 8 cm length
- 2 rows all K.
THIRD SECTION:

This is where all the increases are done

- 1ST row: *2k,2p*, repeat till the end (finish in 2k)
- 2nd row: 2p,*2k, increase and purl 2 stitches*. Repeat till the end, finish in 2k, 2p. Total: 192 Stitches.
- 3rd row: 2k, *2p, 4k*. Repeat till the end. Finish 2p, 2k.
- 4th row: 2p, *2k, 4p*. Repeat till the end. Finish in 2 k, 2p.
- 5th row: 2k, *2p, 2k, increase and purl 1 stitch, 2k*. Repeat till the end. Finish in 2p, 2k. Total: 223 Stitches.
- 6th row: 2p, *2k, 2p, 1k, 2p*. Repeat till the end. Finish in 2p.
- 7th row: 2k, *2p, 2k, 1p, 2k*. Repeat. Finish in 2k.
- 8th row: 2p, *2k, 2p, increase 1 and k, 1k, 2p*. Repeat till the end. Finish in 2p. Total: 254 Stitches.
- 9th row: *2k, 2p*. Repeat till the end, finish in 2k.
- 10th row: *2p, 2k*. Repeat till the end, finish in 2p. Continue until it reaches 8 cm.
- 2 rows all K.
FOURTH SECTION:
- 1ST and every uneven row: *2k, 2p* till the end (finish in 2k)
- 2nd and every even row: *2p, 2k* till the end (finish in 2p)
- Knit until it reaches a length of 8 cm.
- 2 rows all K.
THE BODY:
- 1ST and every uneven row: *2k, 2p* till the end (finish in 2k)
- 2nd and every even row: *2p, 2k* till the end (finish in 2p)
- At this stage the 254 stitches is distribute this way: 38 for each front part, 78 for the back,
and 50 stitches for each armhole, which are left in suspense in stitch holders.
In the 3rd row, for the lower part of each armhole, is cast 22 stitches.
The whole body (38 + 22+ 78+ 22+ 38 = 198 stitches) is knitted to the desire length. Mine is 35 cm.
- 2 rows all K. Cast off loosely.

THE SLEEVES:

They are knitted from top to bottom.
- Cast on 14 stitches, then the 50 left in suspense, and then another 14. Total: 78 stitches.
- 2k, 2p all the way down to the desire length.
- The rib of the sleeves should match with the Yoke.
- Decrease 1 stitch, each side, every 8 rows and until the correct length of sleeves. Mine is 38 cm.
- 2 rows all K. Cast off loosely.
- Join the seam and then stitch the underarms.

A nice crochet finish in the front, with loops and covered buttons.

3 wonderful nieces of mine took time of work to show me and my friend Olga this magic
part of the great city of Buenos Aires.
And the prices!!!! God!!!! BARGAINS comparing with prices here in Sydney.

3 sobrinas maravillosas que tengo, se tomaron el dia en sus trabajos para llevarnos a mi amiga Olga y a mi a esta parte magica de la gran ciudad de Buenos Aires.
Y los precios!!! Dios!!! BARATISIMO comparando con precios de Sydney.

Those few dayS were so short! The day at Scalabrini Ortiz finished with a great meal in a lovely place I shouted to my nieces (the least I could do) Food is also so cheap in BA.!
Then all of us returned exausted carrying lots of bags packed with yarns. More than 12 Kilos!

Esos pocos dias fueron tan cortos!
El dia por Scalabrini Ortiz termino con una regia comida en un lugar precioso que ofreci a mis sobrinas (lo menos que pude hacer) La comida es tambien muy barata en BA!
Luego todas retornamos extenuadas cargando un monton de bolsos repletos de hilados.
Mas de 12 Kilos!

The next day just Olga and I had a full day out on a double decker Tourist Bus to see the gorgeous City plus a few extra hours in Florida St for more shopping to do. All the shops had amazing offers! Even a Tango couple to delight us all.


I got this gorgeous blue sweater there., and for Jimmy another one.

And Olga couldn' t stop buying as well.
So that day we also finished completetly run down, but happy.
I nearly forgot the Colibri Dye, a range of many colors, soon I' ll be experimenting with!

El dia siguiente solo Olga y yo, nos pasamos el dia entero en un Bus Turistico para ver esta Hermosa ciudad mas algunas horas extras de compras por Calle Florida. Todos los comercios tenian ofertas increibles! Hasta una pareja de Tango para deleitarnos a todos.

Me compre este sueter azul ahi, y otro para Jimmy.
Olga no podia parar de comprar tampoco.
Asi que ese dia tambien acabamos totalmente agotadas, pero felices.

The 3rd day we spent just visiting a local supermarket to get wines for Jimmy (he is mad about argentinian wines). I got some real good reserve ones for just about 8 dollars, a bargain!

That last night we had a great dinner prepared by the incomparable Rosie. I am forever in debt to her!
And the next day was very sad....we had to part.
I was so sorry I had no time to get in touch with my knitting buddies from the bloging world, meeting them would had been so nice! Hopefully next time.

I left my heart in Sacalabrini Ortiz.

El tercer dia lo pasamos visitando un supermercado local en busca de vinos para Jimmy (el es loco por los vinos argentinos). Consegui algunos buenisimos de reserva por alrededor de $US 8, baratisimos!
Esa ultima noche tuvimos una cena muy especial preparada por la incomparable Rosie. Le estoy en deuda para siempre!
Y el siguiente dia fue muy triste...... teniamos que partir.
Senti mucho no haber tenido tiempo de contactar mis amigas tejeriles del mundo blogeril, una reunion con ellas hubiera sido tan lindo! Talvez la proxima vez.

Deje mi corazon en Scalabrini Ortiz.

Back to earth! ....De vuelta a la tierra!

Yes! that is the way I feel returning to home after 2 months of constant travelling.

Visiting my family and friends I felt like been somewhere in heaven, so many nice people out there!


From all the angels I met I must mention the ones who did a lot for me, those who took me out for lunch, tea or dinner. The ones who showered me with so many gifts, I actually had to get a new suitcase for them.


Noni, Millie, Julie, aunt Perlita, aunt Alicia, Florence, Sonia, Normi and Ernesto, Myriam Gaona, Otilia, Graciela, Rosita, Lys, Father Zanardini, Father Melia.. so many of them!


But specially my amazing sister Susy, my brother in law Carlos and their children Vicente and Nathaly, who made my stay at their home a memorable one.

Each day with Susy was so much fun! Shopping with her is the bigest adventure. Nobody like her in finding the nicest things at a bargain prices.


I thought I was the Princess of Shopping, but here is my sister Susy the QUEEN of Bargaining hunting!

So I end up with so much to carried home, a third case was needed!


And each dinner at her home had a menu for a Queen! God she can also cook!


Her big kitchen is made for a fun family like hers. A big TV at one side, a sewing corner the other, and while we all talk about everything around her table, she would put together a few dishes to please even the most pretentious appetite.

And those wonderful hours of travelling in the country side!


Nobody like Carlos and Susy to show you around town. Their lovely weekender must be the most beautiful country house I know, with a garden of fairy tales, flowers everywhere! Yes! she is a great gardener as well!


There is nothing she can' t do, and she does it all very well.


My dear sis, many thanks for been like you are.


I only have a few days here at home and already missing you.

Si! asi es como me siento al retornar a casa despues de 2 meses de constante viaje.
Visitando mi familia y amigos me hizo sentir como flotando en el cielo, cuanta buena gente ahi!
De todos los angeles que encontre debo mencionar a los que hicieron mucho por mi, aquellos que me invitaron a almorzar, a ricos tes y cenas. Los que me llenaron de obsequios, que termine por conseguirme una nueva valija para traerlos.
Noni, Millie, Julie, tia Perlita, tia Alicia, Florence, Sonia, Normi y Ernesto, Myriam Gaona, Otilia, Graciela, Rosita, Lys, Padres Melia y Zanardini....fueron tantos! y lo mucho que hicieron por mi! Muchas gracias!
Pero especialmente mi maravillosa hermanita Susy, mi cunado Carlos y sus hijos Vicente y Nathaly, que hicieron de mi estadia en su casa muy memorable.
Cada dia con Susy fue de lo mas divertido! Ir de compras con ella es la mayor aventura. Nadie como ella para encontrar las cosas mas bonitas a precios de remate.
Pense que yo era la Princesa del Shopping, pero aqui esta mi hermanita Susy, La REINA DE LA CACERIA DE OFERTAS!
Asi que termine con mucha carga, una tercera valija fue necesaria!
Y cada comida en su casa tenia un menu para una Reina! Dios !!!ella tambien sabe cocinar!
Su enorme cocina es perfecta para una familia activa como la de ella.
Un gran TV hacia un lado, una esquina de costura del otro, y mientras todos hablabamos de todo un poco alrededor de su mesa, ella preparaba unos cuantos platos para complacer hasta al mas pretencioso apetito.
Y esas maravillosas horas viajando por el campo!
Nadie como Carlos y Susy para mostrarte los alrededores.
Su casa de fin de semana debe ser la casa de campo mas hermosa que conozco, con un jardin de cuentos de hadas, flores por todas partes! Si! ella es una gran jardinera tambien!
No hay nada que ella no sepa hacer, y lo hace todo muy bien!
Mi querida herma, muchas gracias por ser como eres.
Solo llevo unos pocos dias en casa y ya te estoy extranando.
