When there is more love than $$$$$ - Cuando hay mas amor que $$$$$

I love Christmas! I adore everything about Christmas!....well almost everything.
The giving is the best part, but no necesarily the spending, specially this year when money is more scarce.
So it comes handy to make some of the gifts.
-----------------------------------

finally my craft room is done! - finalmente mi taller esta listo!

Not totally finish, say mostly done, and recycled in every way! Only the venetian of the window is new, apart of that and a few cans of paint costed nothing. I am very proud of that.
And very grateful to my adorable Jimmy who worked so hard to make it possible.
--------------------------------

A general view of the room. It will definetly need some shelving over the cutting table (Jimmy' s old desk)
------------------------------------

Some of my dolls over this old chest where I now keep general trimmings and patterns.
----------------------------------

At one side of the cutting table are the things I am working on now, mainly Christmas gifts. That' s the next post.
--------------------------------

Here my sewing corner, the sewing machine, the overlocker, the table, ironing board, etc
When I need more space for cutting, I can easily empty it out
----------------------------------

Under the table: boxes of fabrics, yarns and more.
-------------------------------------

This old shelving (also Jimmy' s "junk") is perfect now for my bits and pieces
-----------------------------------

The boxes are labeled so I can find quickly what I am looking for (about time!)
-------------------------------------

There is even a corner for my knitting machine!
Here also will need a few shelves so my wool wont be around the floor.
-------------------------------------

A new top for Pixi

Pixi is the daughter of my dear friend Olga. Both are very close to my heart.
So for Christmas I knitted this top for her.
The yarn is a lovely mix of 69.6% cotton, 30% wool, 0.4% lycra from Bendigo Yarns, warm enough for our spring in a colour she pick herself.
-----------------------------------------------

But.........really, most of my time I spent clearing THAT ROOM!
More than 3 weeks just to have it empty!

--------------------------------------------

There were boxes pile up near the ceiling, and I opened each one to see what was I keeping in them for so long...JUNK! LOTS OF JUNK!!

MUCHA BASURA!

Shelves pack with Jimmy' s junks also
-------------------------------------------
Estantes cargados con basuras de Jimmy tambien

Old mattresses
--------------------
Colchones viejos

Old clothing and furniture
-------------------------------
Muelbles y ropas viejas

After sorting out the "junk", because most was in good condition (nice kind of junk), I send them to Salvation Army.
And now the long -skinny room (about 6x 2 m) is in Jimmy' s hands.
Lots of hammering sounds, turps and paints smell, and some swearing when something is not going well haha.
I just keep smiling and offering lots of cool drinks, plenty of cups of tea, and his favorite dinners. ANYTHING SO HE DOESN' T QUIT!
Soon,( hopefully) should be ready.
------------------------------------------------
Pronto (espero) estara listo.

2 cotton tops

I spent the last few weeks jumping from one thing to another!
Spring cleaning my house, some gardening, clearing a lot of junk from a small room next to the garage with the intention of transforming in a hobbies room-this is a big job!, luckily Jimmy is helping.
Is empty at the moment and painting about to start.

-----------------------------------------------------

My knitting and bloging is quite behind, but somehow I managed to do a bit like this other "top to bottom". I' m still in the "outsidedown" mood.
I wanted a loose fitting, but it turned out huge!, so it will go to one of my chubby friends (I have a couple)

And the top part of a Shalom for Olga, she will continue the lower part.
--------------------------------------

She is back from her trip to Southamerica and this is the vest waiting for her. I owe her a lot! she brought me more wool from Scalabrini Ortiz in Buenos Aires.

4 great colors!!

---------------------------------------------------------

My wooladdiction is getting more serious each day! haha

2 more top- to- bottoms

This 100% cotton multicolor -brown, soft pink, ivory- I started in my travelling time and finished here at home.
Is very similar to my blue one but the body in other stitch. Will go perfectly with some of my white slacks and skirts for this spring.
-------------------------------------------------

And this white wool "shalom" vest to replace the red I gave to my aunt Perlita I just finished.
-------------------------------------------------

Looks like "a top to bottom addiction" hehe
-----------------------------------------------
