Mum' s house

Last year when I spent time with my mum -very sick in that time- I had to do something urgent about the house at the same time of looking after her.. So much mess everywhere and big problems from the humidity on the walls. -------------------------------- El año pasado cuando pase un tiempo con mi madre-muy enferma en ese tiempo- Tenia que hacer algo urgente por la casa al mismo tiempo que cuidarla. Un gran desorden en todas partes y grandes problemas por la humedad en las paredes.

This espace was "el quincho", where people make their BBQ but in here was only to pile junk. I decided to use it for a new kitchen. ------------------------------------ Estaba este espacio grande llamdo "quincho", que es para hacer el asado, pero que ahi era solo para almacenar basura. Decidi usarlo para una cocina nueva.

Don Alcides was the "magic" man who tackle the job- with the help of others. --------------------------------------- Don Alcides fue el hombre "magico" que se animo al trabajo- con la ayuda de otros.

Inocencio was also there day by day ----------------------------------- Inocencio estuvo ahi tambien dia tras dia

Gaspar put some days there. And Don Bourgognone the carpenter and Gustavo his helper.Lots of repairs to do! ------------------------------------- Gaspar puso algunos dias ahi. Y Don Bourgognone el carpintero y Gustavo su ayudante. Muchas reparaciones para hacer!

Tomasa who did painting jobs when she was only to assist my mum. And Raquel, the nurse who not just took a good care of mum but gave her time in painting, cleaning and gardenig. Both incredibly energetic and generous! -------------------------------- Tomasa que tomo varios trabajos de pintura cuando ella estaba solo para asistir a mama. Y Raquel, la enfermera que no solo atendia muy bien a mama pero tambien daba su tiempo en pintar, limpiar y jardinear. Ambas increiblemente energeticas y generosas!

I was everywhere! Cleaning, washing, hammering,mending, sewing.... New sheets and new covers to all the chairs, curtains, etc ----------------------------- Yo estaba por todas partes! Limpiando, lavando, martillando, remendando, cosiendo.... Sabanas y tohallas nuevas, nuevos forros a todas las sillas, cortinas etc

Other people installed the cabinets in the kitchen. Don Alcides made and intalled the new window. --------------------------------------- Otros instalaron los armarios de la cocina. Don Alcides hizo y coloco la nueva ventana.

Then a full painting job and tidy up. -------------------------------- Despues la pintura total y el ordenamiento.

Many cupboards had to be repair, same as the doors and windows. Don Bourgognone was the magic man. ------------------------------- Muchos armarios tuvieron que ser reparados, asi como todas las puertas y ventanas. Don Bourgognone fue el hombre magico.

The bathrooms needed new floor. ------------------------------- Los baños necesitaban piso nuevo.

The kitchen finished like this. --------------------------------La cocina termino asi.

Some tidy up in the backyard, and a new laundry. ----------------------------- Un ordenamiento en el patio, y un nuevo lavadero.

And finaly the front. All while mum was either in Hospital or at home for a few days. --------------y finalmente el frente. Todo mientras mama estaba en el Hospital o en la casa for algunos dias.

A few days before I returned home I invited for lunch to the closest, those dear friends, neighbours and family who were there for me in a very difficult time.I know you could also be there if only you live closer. Mum is in heaven and in my heart forever. Love to everyone. ------------------------------------- Unos dias antes de volver a casa invite para almorzar a los mas cercanos, esos queridos amigos, vecinos y familia que estuvieron ahi para mi en tan dificil momento. Se que tambien vosotros estarias ahi de vivir mas cerca. Mama esta en el cielo y en mi corazon para siempre. Cariños a todas.

Sealed with a kiss went the New Year celebration in Sydney about 12 hours ago.

Some million and the half people went along....

And I remember with some sadness the year that just passed.

Hope this new one is a better one.

Cellada con un beso fue la celebracion del Año Nuevo en Sydney unas 12 horas atras.

Alrededor de un millon y medio de personas estaban ahi....

Y recuerdo con algo de tristeza el año que acaba de irse.

Espero que el nuevo sea mejor.

 

 

 

Our New Year dinner was at my son John's apartment in Wollongong.

But Jimmy and I had to  I cook the roast and everything else, and packed and

organized the table, etc (definetly more work than if the whole

thing was at home)

But he lives very close to the beach where the fireworks goes- only a short stroll away.

A dear friend came along and the 4 of us had a jolly good time.

Nuestra cena de Año Nuevo fue en el departamento de mi hijo John en Wollongong.

Pero Jimmy y yo teniamos que cocinar la carne y todo lo demas, empaquetar, llevar y preparar la mesa, etc (definitivamente mas trabajo que si toda la cosa hubiera sido en casa)

Pero el vive muy cerca de la playa donde  los fuegos artificiales -solo a unos pasos.

Una amiga muy querida vino con nosotros y los 4 juntos tuvimos un pasar muy agradable.

Some of last year resolutions I coudn't do it, but some

no planned I did. And I don' t feel bad about it.

This year I will try again.

my son Henry was about to through away I did some tidy up.

Almost Christmas!

Only a few more days to Christmas but I managed to finish my turquoise dollie.

What a shock I had! I lost all my pictures!and it was all my fault. I wanted to clear my space in Picasa thinking I would make more space for pictures in my blog silly me. They' re gone and there is nothing I could do but add the pictures one by one again GRRRRR
